As someone who has been fortunate to have incredibly motivating teachers throughout my life, I am happiest when I am able to pass on all that I have learned. I have taken part in several programs in Aspen, Miami, NYC, and Ohio to engage and support budding young musicians, and I work with each student to tailor lesson plans and repertoire to individual needs and goals. I endeavor to keep lessons engaging, fun, and most importantly thought provoking. I encourage my students to seek inspiration from all musical genres, and to seek for themselves a musical voice that is both meaningful and informed.
Previous students have gone on to win national and international competitions, and have secured places at some of the top music schools in the US and abroad. I enjoy helping students make the connection between high school and college levels, and am always happy to brainstorm with students ways in which they might engage with prospective college teachers through summer festivals and masterclasses in the year or two leading up to their undergraduate applications.
